When people discuss Sony’s E3 press conference they make it sound like the greatest presentation ever. While it was exciting, all they essentially did was wow everyone by saying they were doing nothing to upset gamers, like Microsoft did before they completely changed their policies. However, what I saw was a lack of new first-party or triple A PS Vita games announced.
At this year’s Gamescom Convention in Europe Sony might have more to show. In an interview with SCEE President Jim Ryan, GameReactor has the scoop on Sony might have in store for the event. Ryan states:
There’s a lot coming. I’m sure you heard from [Shuhei Yoshida] that he has, his studios, he has 30 games in development. 20 are going to ship within the first year of the consoles life and of those 12 are new IPs. So there a lot going on and we need to keep stuff back. We’ve got Gamescom for us Europeans and we need to have something to show Gamescom.
Of course, Ryan is talking about Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony WorldWide Studios. What is interesting is what those unannounced games for the PS4 could be, perhaps new IP’s or returning favorites. We will just have to wait until Gamescom, which takes place in Cologne, Germany on August 21th through the 25th this year.
