It’s hard to imagine that almost half of the year has gone by so fast. So far 2014 seems to have suffered from the transition to the new consoles. While there have been a few surprises (Bravely Default, South Park), there haven’t been many big triple A games to talk about. However, the year is not over and with the recent arrivals of games like TitanFall, inFamous: Second Son and Dark Souls, the rest of 2014 is looking pretty exciting. Here are my Top 10 Most Anticipated Games for the Rest of 2014:
10. The Evil Within
I’m generally not one to get scared by horror games. However, the “Horror” element has been missing for a while now. Leave it to Shinji Makami, the father of survival horror and creator of the Resident Evil series, to get me excited again. Makami’s The Evil Within looks disturbingly horrific … in a good way. From all the previews, this game looks to be a technical masterpiece. Lighting that gives off the right amount of dark that leave you not lost but wondering whats around the next corner. The enemies are relentless and powerful. Also, damage is crucial. Limbs stay hurt until they can be patched up, leaving escape difficult.
Look for this one August 26, 2014.

Sony has just announced on the Playstation Blog that Soul Sacrifice Delta, Freedom Wars and Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines will be coming to U.S and Europe . Both Soul Sacrific Delta and Freedom Wars have been highly anticipated games from Sony’s Japan Studios, while Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines is fairly new. Adding these 3 new games to the Vita’s catalog for 2014 along with Borderlands 2, Final Fantasy X/X-2 and the God of War Collection might make for an interesting year.
Soul Sacrifice Delta comes out May 13 and release dates for Freedom Wars and Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines coming within the next few months. Original post and despriction here. Trailers and screenshots below below:

Every time I see Freedom Wars I get a little bit more excited. While I have been deep into all the indie and downloadable games that you can find on the PS Vita, I haven’t been this excited for the big games since Gravity Rush. The perception is that Vita does not have any games, but anyone who owns the system knows that is far from the truth and are more than satisfied. I think Sony’s problem is that they do not talk about the Vita as much as they should, but that’s a conversation for another day. Only problem is, Freedom Wars is Japan only. Crossing my fingers for a western release.
